avast antivirus is among the top security suites on the market. It is highly effective in mobile and desktop security it scans for malware, and has other features such as an anti-theft feature and software updater. It also comes with sandboxing technology that checks unknown files before they are loaded on your computer or device.

The user interface for Avast is simple and clean. Its central dashboard displays all the tools that the suite can provide with clear icons for each. The menu bar, settings, and new issues are all clearly marked. Avast’s complete scan has very minimal impact on the performance of your computer, and the suite scores high in security tests against different kinds of malware, including ransomware.

Avast however, was in the news in late 2019 and early 2021 for collecting and selling information about users through the feature called Jumpshot. Fortunately, the company has since halted the practice and claims to not be collecting any data from users my blog for marketing purposes.

Avast offers a variety of subscription plans that are suited to both individuals and businesses. The basic plan for home users provides protection for up to five devices. Paid plans offer more protection and more features, such as a password manager or ad blocking.
